(Survey Results) Church Services in Lockdown Level 3

RESULTS OF SURVEY CONDUCTED ON RE-OPENING CHURCH SERVICES UNDER LEVEL 3 LOCKDOWN

Last week we sent out a survey to get a better view on how you feel about returning to the church building for worship during level 3 lockdown. We thank you for your views and thoughts. We have taken them into account in planning the way forward.

We had close to 150 responses to the survey with more than 70% of people indicating that they would NOT be returning to services yet. Although many indicated that they missed regular worship and fellowship, many felt that it was too risky and too early to be returning to normal Sunday services. Further, several people said that even with the health and safety protocols in place they would not be returning at this time.

A number of useful suggestions were made on how to manage the limited number of attendees at services (limited to a total of 50 people per service). We will be considering an on-line booking system that will be fair, reasonable and easy to use. In addition, we will be giving preference to people who do not have access or easy access to the internet for our on-line services.

Given your responses, we have therefore decided to CONTINUE WITH THE PRE-RECORDED SERMONS via our online channels. We will be reviewing the situation on a weekly basis and we will communicate to you when the decision is made to re-open the church building for services.

We encourage you to continue to pray for guidance and wisdom as we seek God’s leading in this matter.
